First we wanted to activate Room 20's prior knowledge of the deep blue sea. This is when we think about all the things we already know about the topic. Thinking about what we already know gives us a base to build our new knowledge from. Here is our prior knowledge:
Our second topic/inquiry of 2013 is Deep Blue Sea. The big ideas for this topic are:
- Living thing are classified according to their features
- Living things have different features which allow them to adapt to their environment
- We have a responsibility to care for the environment
