The homework sheets have not yet been put on the blog as I am having trouble doing so. They will be up as soon as possible.

Remember, there is no school on Friday as it is Show Day.  

Athletics photos - there are a few on the sports blog, and Aaron L was able to take some photos on the day which I will upload. In the meantime, three students from Room 20 were on the front of the school newsletter on Thursday in athletics photos:

Year 6 Cycle Safety Times

Room 20 has cycle safety on the following days:

Monday 26 August, Wednesday 28 August, Thursday 29 August, Wednesday 4 September.

Please remember to bring: your bike, your helmet, appropriate clothing to bike in and a bike lock to lock your bike up at school.

Homework Sheet

The homework sheet will now be uploaded to the blog under the 'Homework' tab each Monday morning. Students will now choose whether they receive a homework sheet from me on Mondays or whether they will view it online. 

Basic Facts homework practise sheets will still be handed out each Monday. 

Please encourage your child to practise their spelling words and basic facts each afternoon. They are tested on both each Friday. 

Baby Photo

Since we ran out of time today, we will now do our baby photo guessing on Monday. For those several people who haven't brought in a photo yet, bring one along on Monday :)

Welcome back to Term 2!

A few reminders and updates:

• Please remember to bring along a baby photo of yourself by Friday, and then we will try and guess who is who!

• There will be sports practise on Friday afternoons for the next three weeks, so please remember to bring your sports gear to school. 

• I have added a new spelling game to the top of the 'Spelling Games' list called Spelling Match. Grade 4 is the equivalent of Year 5, and Grade 5 is Year 6.

• I have added two new maths games (Math Magician Games and Multiplication Games), along with a maths dictionary to the top of the 'Numeracy Games' list. 

• I have added a new reading game to the top of the 'Reading Games' list called Vocabulary Games. I have also added Children's Storybooks which is full of great stories for all ages.

If you have your own iPod or iPad at home and would like to download some free maths apps to use, here are some great ones...

Daniel's farewell afternoon tea

Thursday is Daniel's last day in Room 20 as he is going back to Canada on Friday. 

To say farewell and celebrate the six weeks Daniel has been with us, we're going to have a shared afternoon tea for the students in Room 20 on Thursday. Could each student please bring a small plate to share.
